One of their daughters is a DEP Environmental Specialist and mother of their “perfect” granddaughter. Their younger daughter is a family systems counselor in private practice. Their daughters have brought them two wonderful sons-in-law and neat “grand-dogs.”

Fran graduated from Orono High School and completed her AB degree in Art in 1965 from Brown University and her MEd from the University of Maine in 1980. To practice art therapy in the US, Fran obtained a State of Maine counseling license, the Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) qualification. She graduated with her PhD from the University of Maine in May 2003. Fran continues to build her art psychotherapy and counseling practice in Bangor ME where she helps clients recover from trauma through individual and group sessions.

Fran’s work as an artist has been primarily in fabric design and painting. She enjoys making art in many mediums. Fran uses her art time to think out and think through both work and personal concerns in cognitive and affective ways. Making art for Fran is also fun! And it lets her sleep better!
